Overview:

As a part of the Database Administration Team, qualified candidate will be responsible for build and design, administrating MongoDB databases, provide operational support and design and deploy new projects

We are looking for a DBA professional who is passionate about their work and is aligned with the company’s mission. Duties & Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, plan and perform the DB upgrades.
• Maintenance – during release/outage etc.
• Implementing best practices for backups, replication, and health checks.
• Database hardening – implement best practices.
• Design and implement DR plans & HA solutions and recommendations.
• Automate the process of deploying DB changes so that we can support this for a new build/patch/hotfix.
• Act as an application DB during the design process.
• Database administration, design and deploy of Mongo DB database
• Design and implement sharding and indexing strategies for MongoDB.
• Advise MongoDB HA strategies, including replica sets and sharding

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in MongoDB Database administration
• 5+ years of experiences in Linux environment in a database administrator role
• 3+ years of experience in JavaScript, Python, Bash/Korn shell scripting
• Adept in CI/CD – Agile Scrum, and using JIRA, GIT
• Experience in automating database administration tasks
• Strong scripting experience – Unix/Shell Scripting, Python
• Expertise in database/data design and architectural principles and methodologies.

Education:

A bachelor’s degree in computer science or another relevant field is required for this position.
